What is the state of the 2.0 version, I have a student who tried it and it wouldn’t connect over Bluetooth. So I got told him to use 1.0.
He did update the xrp library, but didn’t flash the firmware. This is on the beta hardware.
Is this a known issue? Will 2.0 be forced on us before the end of the year?
Can you provide more details on the problems he was having attaching via Bluetooth? What computer type were they using? Any details would be helpful. We would like to fix the problems you were seeing.
Sorry, side quest came up. I believe that the robot would not show up in the list of what to connect to. These were Alienware machines in a e-sports lab. He had no problems with 1.0 version of the machines.
We have occasionally seen this right after an update. After a reset or powering on and off the XRP it should show up in the list.
We will be switching to the v2 of XRPCode next week. We will move the v1 over to staging for those that need it. We have worked hard to add many new features to V2 that we hope you and your students will enjoy.
Having access to the older version, will satisfy my concerns.
I have notice a tendency to have to wave dead chickens and hold the tongue just right. To get a working Bluetooth to robot and Bluetooth to game pad working, but as so often is the case with these things when the kids find a way that works, it then is pretty reliable. I fear the windows Bluetooth stack it itself the problem.
Okay, so I’ve committed to v2 on the teacher’s robot. I can connect to the robot using Bluetooth. When I try to connect a game pad it never shows up in the browser. If I press the XBOX button it brings up the Game Bar on the PC, and the controller shows as connected in the settings dialog but it’s not making to chrome, and I’ve been double checking it with hardwaretester.com and it’s not showing up there either. So arguable this is not a XRP editor problem, but is a problem for this teacher.
Windows is getting to the controller first. You need to turn the game bar off. You should be able to do that in the Windows settings under Gaming.
