Chassis design now on Tinkercad

Hello XRP fans. I have created a Tinkercad model in which the basic parts of the frame are provided as custom “shapes”. Feel free to copy this design to start your own Tinkercad model – hopefully the shapes will be usable.

Here’s the link: 3D design Sample XRP Frame - Tinkercad

With these shapes you can make your own custom version of the XRP frame, make add-ons etc.

Please let me know how it works for you. If you get stuck I can try to help, but I’m NOT expert with Tinkercad.

P.S. Tinkercad is really resistant to “mates” such as one finds in Solidworks etc. I’ve done my best to get things to line up, but you may find small offsets that you’ll need to fix.

For those new to Tinkercad, there are some really useful keyboard shortcuts. Two of my favorites are “D” and “L”. Here is a link: Keyboard Shortcuts for the 3D Editor - Tinkercad

In case you’re wondering whether this model makes a good STL file for 3d printing, see this photo:

The TinkerCad model now includes ALL of the parts, each as a “Custom Shape” under “Your Creations”. You can modify, duplicate, export any of these components.
