I can open xrpcode.wpi.edu and click connect to XRP. I can see the XRP in the list and click connect, but it times out and fails to connect.
Is it even possible to use tablets? If so, what is the secret to get it to connect?

Did you ever have any luck? I never could get it work on a tablet. I had the same issue as you.
In order for the program to run just in a browser XRPCode uses the Web serial and Web Bluetooth protocols. The support for these protocols are limited on tablets. Chrome is usually the best at handling it, if it is supported on the tablet.
