Are there any plans to add CAN bus support to the FRC/WPI version of the XRP? I would think someone could build a CAN to SparkFun interface device to allow the XRP to more fully mimic a RoboRIO. Kind of like the current CANifier available for the FRC teams to use with PWM devices. This would allow for control over a large number of devices in the FRC world. It shouldn’t be that expensive and isn’t that what the SparkFun interfaces are for?
So, will you wait until the new FRC/FTC controller becomes “Generally Available” to everyone, or have something in place in time for the FTC season kick-off, FRC season Kick-off, sooner?. The FTC people will be cranking up fairly soon. The XRP market could expand exponentially if it can be used be the FTC teams right away. Or will the XRP be obsolete due to the new Controller selection that was made? I would think since the XRP “emulates” the roboRIO now, it would also emulate the new controller via the RP.
