CAN bus for FRC/WPI version of firmware

Are there any plans to add CAN bus support to the FRC/WPI version of the XRP? I would think someone could build a CAN to SparkFun interface device to allow the XRP to more fully mimic a RoboRIO. Kind of like the current CANifier available for the FRC teams to use with PWM devices. This would allow for control over a large number of devices in the FRC world. It shouldn’t be that expensive and isn’t that what the SparkFun interfaces are for?

Just an idea to increase the scope of the XRP.

Good idea. We have looked at it some, most likely we would do something around the same time as the new 2027 controller.
