Control board is DEAD

Part way through a Summer Camp, one of our robots stopped responding. When plugged into a PC we get a “USB Device not reccognized” message. After trying several cables that work on other boards we fianlly decided to just reflash the board. Unfortunately, when we hold down the BOOTSEL button when resetting the board, we get the same error message.

Any advice on how to recover this board?

Sorry to hear that happened! I’ve seen this kind of thing happen before, but unfortunately I don’t know what the root problem is. My guess is the RP2040 itself got damaged, possibly from ESD (just speculation), in which case you’d need to replace the control board.
