# Summer camp field size proposal

Hi,

I have a general question / thought about the size of the games such as Iron Acres. The field is 107.3in x 60.15 which does not appear to be a specific metric number either. Unfortunately it is not the size of a piece of plywood (96in x 48in). For the camps we run we have built a table so that it is not all on the floor. It would be a lot easier to setup/teardown the table if we could just use a single piece of plywood sitting on sawhorses.

Proposal - scale the size of the field, for future camps, so that it fits on a 4ft x 8ft piece of plywood.

We have not down iron acres yet, but I puzzled on how the field size was chosen for Orbit Odyssey. I do think 4x8 is slightly small for four XRPs, but the official field size makes constructing a game table from 4x8 sheets somewhat awkward. The tarp functions ok on smooth floors but doesn’t do well on uneven floors. A carpeted table addresses wheel slippage issues and even floors.

Hi,

Good point about the size of the XRP bot relative to the field. it definitely would be crowded. Not sure what the answer is other than to scale the robot chassis down as well.
