# Driving the XRP with the new gamepad functionallity

Hello!

I am currently working on driving the XRP with the new gamepad functionallity.

However, I am still not sure on how I am supposed to connect the XRP to the Controller. I am currently trying to connect the XRP to my PC using bluetooth and PestoLink. However, although the XRP appears in my “new bluetooth devices”, I am not able to connect to it.

I am assuming the way to use the controller is connecting the XRP to my PC via Bluetooth and my PC to the Controller via USB. Is this the way? How should I do it?

@DavidFuquen we have been discussing this recently. My understanding, and others will correct me if I am wrong, is that the XRP currently lacks a Micropython stack to pair with the BLE controllers directly. For that reason, one has to use some sort of Driver Station. I am hoping that some of my students can create a solution, over the summer, because it would definitely make life easier if we could do exactly what you are proposing.
